The term “digital economy” covers the massive growth in demand for digital technology jobs and skills which are now vital for pretty much every industry in Scotland.

Once seen as only relevant to the technology sector, digital skills are now essential right across the board, from tourism to health and from construction to food and drink (and everything in between).

In essence, without digital skills Scotland’s entire economy would stop turning. Which is why, back in March last year, SDS launched the first ever Digital Economy Skills Action Plan.

Off the back of that plan we worked with a range of external and internal stakeholders - including careers advisers - to create a new Digital Economy Skills & Careers Guide.

This guide has been developed to help both individuals and businesses upskill themselves on the digital economy, as well as signposting to more information and resources.
